I never really understood this.
Well, I understand “SEO”, but why in the world would anyone call themselves that? What are people and companies branding themselves with the mystical ability to “control search”. Guess who controls search?
I’ll give you one guess..
Give up?
It’s the “Search Engines”. They are the ones that control search. Those that call themselves a “Professional SEO” or a even better a whole firm of SEOs. are sadly mistaken. They are kidding themselves and are immense illusionists.
I wouldn’t trust anyone that calls themselves an “SEO Expert“, because they are lying.
You can’t be an SEO Expert on a product you didn’t create, or even have much say in it’s continued development. All you are is a study hound, and a trickster trying Shenanigans. And I don’t say this to put down the hard work of local companies or outsourced out of country SEO companies, but if you take a look and a step back, you will see what I am saying is correct.
All too much, I come into contact with people who were promised the world by their “SEO Expert”, just to be let down by an Google, Bing or Yahoo algo change.
So you’re probably wondering, well what do I do then?
Well, you don’t need to hire an SEO expert, you need to get yourself a good online marketer.
I can say with pride that I am a true online marketer (And your probably wondering how I can say that).
Because I have been on both sides of the coin. I have owned brick and mortar businesses as well as developed the online space. And time and time again, whenever there was a massive update, a shift in the digital solar system or just a plain breakdown of a proposed SEO plan. I could always rely on one thing.
And that was good marketing. Yes, it’s true!
Essentially someone to help your business and get found online will be a good marketer at heart. They will also be digitally savvy and “know SEO”.
But SEO is just but one task in a large sea of responsibilities when it comes to proper online marketing.
So if you want SEO, you can read a few articles, and watch a few videos.
If you want online marketing, well…you hire an online marketer.
