Okay, okay, I know it’s not about marketing.
However, the old saying goes. No Health = No Wealth!
With that in mind, I have to let everyone know that I was not in the perfect place the past 4 years. And despite my healthy eating, regular weightlifting regimens and overall goal towards sustained longevity, I had one awful scenario that came up time and time again.
It was an existing injury that involved the over extension (or hyper extension) of my right shoulder and scapula. I was literally painting the ceiling of my room and my ladder wasn’t tall enough, and I had to reach that “little spot” that I couldn’t get to. Then seconds later, I hear a small snapping sound in my upper back and then the next thing I know I almost fell off the ladder in excruciating pain. Probably a pain that was by far in the top 10 of my life.
I was was in total denial of what was happening to me. I didn’t think I would get so severely hurt doing something so simple like painting my room.
But guess what?
I did.
So fast forward 15 pain killers, 5 years and a slew of “sports therapy workouts” and my shoulder still cracked in and out of place and my back was always in this constant state of pain.
Nothing I did, truly made it feel better. Not the shots of muscle relaxer that I was prescribed, not the daily targeted muscle exercises I did. Not even buying a new firmer bed mattress.
All of these things, treated symptoms of my pain, but none of the previous was a solution to the problem.
Until one day I decided to try Chiropractic. Which many ask “does Chiropractic really help“?
And the short answer is yes. And let me tell you that I was quite the skeptic. But just like most things in my life, I am a true purveyor of trying things at least once to see for myself if they work or not.
So with my awful existing upper back/shoulder pain, and some positive intentions, I went to go see what they call an Upper Cervical Chiropractor.
Something that I didn’t have a clue existed, nor have I even remotely heard of this niche within a niche type of natural healing. Which when I talked to people, thought it was even crazier of a reason for me to not try it. Though yet again, at this point, I had nothing to lose and going to a Chiropractic Office was like a walk in the park compared to what I had been through previously.
However, I received a true explanation of what the body is truly all about. And just the like the web and it’s connectivity, so does the body need to be correctly configured and “connected” in order to heal and function properly. None of this sounded like anything that wasn’t logical.
So after a slew of x-rays, and an in-depth evaluation, I was adjusted according to my specific needs using the “Blair Technique” or what they call a “Upper Cervical Adjustment”, and truly I have felt some interesting things to say the least after it.
I have been healing day after day, and my pain has become less and less intense. A true healing process has started, and all because of some Chiropractic work that many think do not work, or would rather medicate to mask the problems.
However, I am a testament, to someone that is rather healthy, that just happened to be twisting in the right place at the wrong time. And with over 4 years of progressive pain, with technically no help in sight, is disheartening to say the least of anyone dealing with day to day life issues.
So when someone asks me whether or not “Chiropractic Really Helps”? Then you can ask me personally, and I will tell you a resounding yes!
PS: I will be updating this post documenting my healing process, with more information on my Upper Cervical Adjustment as the months continue.
